Passport Requirements for Afghanistan

 

ATTENTION! NEW PASSPORT APPLICATION FORM

PLEASE MAKE SURE TO FILL IN THE FORM FULLY AND ACCURATELY, OTHERWISE THE APPLICATION MAY BE REJECTED

 

The Embassy will issue new passports to Afghan citizens. Applicants are required to:

  1. Send at least one document proving their Afghan nationality, e.g.: National Identity Card (Tazkera), old Afghan passport etc. Fill in the Passport Application Form. Send 3 passport photographs. Send equivalent to 104 EUR (for 5 years passport) or 24 EUR (for 1 year passport).
  2. Those Afghan citizens who do not have above mentioned documents, but have any ID documents from other countries, require their nationality to be confirmed by 2 other Afghan citizens.

  3. Fee for extension of the passport is 20 EUR for a year and maximum until five year can be extended.

The Embassy advises applicants to send their documents by registered mail or a similar secure courier service.
