Officials sign Book of Condolence for Marshal Fahim

A number of officials visited the Embassy on Thursday to leave their tribute for Marshal Mohammad Qasim Fahim, former vice president of Afghanistan, who passed away on 9 March after a protracted illness.

Marshal Fahim, 57, was part of the alliance that ousted the Taliban in 2001 and served first as defense minister, before becoming vice president in 2009. Following his death, the Presidential Office announced three days of mourning.
