On the occasion of demise of Prof. Hazrat Sibghatullah Mojaddedi, former president of Afghanistan, a condolence book was open in the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Warsaw on Friday, February 15, 2019.

The representatives from the office of the President, Prime Minister and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Ambassadors and other Diplomats from the Diplomatic Corps in Warsaw express their condolences and sympathy by signing the condolence book at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Warsaw.

H.E. Mr. Gul Hussain Ahmadi, Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Warsaw, had a fruitful meeting with Mr. Paweł Milewski, Director of Asia Pacific Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.

During this meeting, Director Mr. Milewski has said that, over the past years, there were many employees of the government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, participated in the training programs, organized by the Government of Poland. This year (2019) also the Polish Foreign Ministry is in contact with the relevant authorities of the Republic of Poland, trying to launch another training program of capacity building for the employees of Afghanistan government in New Delhi, India, as soon as possible.

Ambassador Mr. Ahmadi conveyed his appreciation to the Government of Poland for the support and assistance during the past years, and expressed his gratitude for preparing the new training programs for the Afghan government employees, this year. He also spoke about the details and procedure of choosing eligible candidates, as well as about the training programs that are in priority for the government of Afghanistan in the year 2019.

This meeting was attended by: Mr. Mohammad Salim Zarbast, first secretary of this embassy, Ms. Barbara Szymanowska, former head of the Department of Development Cooperation, Ms. Joanna Stachyra, the deputy of the Department of Development Cooperation, and Mr. Piotr Buszta, Head of South Asian countries in the Asia Pacific Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Poland.

Mr. Gul Hussain Ahmadi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the Republic of Latvia with resistance in Warsaw - Poland, had a fruitful meeting with Mr. Nils Jansons, Director of the Second Bilateral Relations of America, Asia, Africa and Middle East Department and with Ms. Dana Goldfinca, the Head of Asia and Oceania Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia in Riga.

During the meeting, Ambassador Ahmadi and Director Jansons had a productive discussion and exchange of views on a wide range of topics in the areas of bilateral relations and cooperation between Afghanistan and Latvia. They also spoke about the successful visit of H.E. President of Republic of Latvia to Afghanistan which was in November, last year (2018) and the fruitful meeting of H.E. the President of Republic of Latvia with H.E. Mr. Sarwar Danish, Second Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
